AI got me to a first prototype in minutes. The real design work started after that. Recently, I attended an AI prototyping event hosted by Builder Pub, with some fellow design peeps, Navneet Vaid, MFA and Minjun Byun. We challenged ourselves to turn real-life problems into working product concepts. I explored a common tension in group travel: before anyone can choose where to go, the group first has to agree on how they want the trip to feel. That led me to create Wanderwell, a travel discovery experience that helps people explore destinations based on the atmosphere they are looking for—whether that is relaxing, adventurous, romantic, tropical, or centered around nightlife. The first AI-generated version was functional, but it felt generic. I refined the prompts and applied product and design judgment to strengthen the: → Information hierarchy → Readability and responsive layout → Interaction design → Brand personality and visual storytelling My biggest takeaway: AI can accelerate the first draft, but product thinking, taste, and storytelling are what turn an output into an experience people can understand and connect with. 🔗 Explore the live prototype: https://lnkd.in/gNz9Acat Thank you Felix Liao, Nikita Lin for creating such an energizing space to experiment and learn. This experience reinforced the kind of work I enjoy most: framing an ambiguous problem, prototyping quickly, and refining an idea into a thoughtful product experience. I’m currently exploring product design opportunities where I can combine product strategy, UX, visual design, and AI-assisted prototyping. Swipe through to see the initial output, the decisions I made, and the final direction. #ProductDesign #UXDesign #AIPrototyping #DesignStrategy

COOL! Generated and published a surprisingly nice live website using Codex in under 1.5 hrs with the help the of Felix Liao and @Nikita Lin at an awesome hands-on AI workshop experience with Builder Pub in the South Bay Area! While I've learned to embrace AI for research tasks, time saving work arounds, and data heavy tasks, Gen AI is something that just wasn't hitting the mark, in terms of it being able to hold up against solid trod and true design methodologies. This workshop really made the difference, Felix Liao and Nikita really set the stage and had such a nice structure in place, it demystified many of the hang-ups I had been getting stuck on, and made the whole process so much more simple and smooth. In the end I ended up presenting, winning 1st place, and walking away with some super fun winners swag! ( and also connecting with some super nice Bay Area peeps 🦄 ) To sum this up: 1. Codex was definitely a TON more effective as a design tool than some of the other agents I've tried. 2. You can do a lot in 1.5 hrs, and get to about 80-85%. I would expect another 3-4 hrs to really get a live site popping and up to a level of solid integrity. 3. While i've been to a ton of large well funded AI events in the Bay Area, I actually walked away with something a lot more impactful at this small hands on South Bay event (instead of people selling their brand, or talking AI, this event actually managed to empower) 4. Really helped me to visualize and hone in on labor of love project to bring more performing and healing arts into the Bay Area schools! super fun! Looking forward to applying this approach on future projects and hope to see the peeps at Builder Pub again! (walkthrough of live site landing page and link in the comments below)

As a content creator, I’m always exploring new technologies, creative ideas, and opportunities to learn. This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a hands-on AI workshop, where I explored OpenAI Codex—a powerful AI coding agent designed to help build software, and automate tasks through AI-assisted development. During the workshop, I built a simple Dictionary App designed to help children and English as a Second Language (ESL) learners expand their vocabulary by enabling them to: 🔹 Search for words 🔹 Understand meanings 🔹 Read example sentences 🔹 Discover similar words It was a valuable hands-on experience that helped me better understand the potential of AI in software development, education, and content creation. A sincere thank you to Builder Pub for organizing an engaging workshop and sharing practical insights that made the learning experience both impactful and enjoyable. #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #OpenAI #Codex #ContentCreator #EdTech #ESL #EnglishLearning #ESL #Innovation #TechLearning #Networking #ContinuousLearning

I liked the course and I am actively using codex now. was able to figure it out but I felt more people needed more hand holding. So may be vet the students for readiness next time.
